About the Artist Nicolas Diemel
Nick Diemel
is a self-taught artist.
Growing up in Indonesia & Holland, I have always been fascinated and interested by Art and many other Artistic expressions. I have painted & schetched since I was very young. My mother was an Artist and I have learned a great deal from her flair for creating art & her zeal for living life.
I have also built many model airplanes & ships as a teenager, mostly out of wood.
After coming to the USA in the late fifties, I became a foreign car mechanic for over 25 years in the San Francisco Bay area & Soulsbyville California.
So most of my life I have been an Artist, painting on canvas and creating freeform art in wood & metal and in many other media.
Currently I live in Bend Oregon with my wife Ellen.
We enjoy the Central Oregon high desert lifestyle and the changing seasons in this beautiful mountain community. Now that I am semi-retired from my carpentry profession, I really desire to spend more of my days creating many kinds of Art, sculpture, kinetic art, etc. and also just painting this beautiful world around me.
